no Grammy wins for u2 this year, which is just as well since none of the boys were in attendance. Even better than a grammy appearance, though, are these new pics of Bono and Edge taken in Dublin 2 days ago. Perhaps not the most flattering photo of Bono, I much prefer the crooked smile to the serious look and the orange glasses are not my favorite, but it is nice to see them anyway. Nice to know they're in Dublin, too, maybe they really are starting to think about maybe working on a new album one of these days? If only they could find Adam....I've said it before, I'm sure he's in a sarong on some private indonesian beach somewhere. Adam and sarongs go together, you know. Kind of like...well, kind of like Bono and the Edge I guess!

I'm still here, it's just that my new job is kicking my butt and not leaving me a lot of free time this week. I'm really, really enjoying the job and it's not physically demanding but it's an intensive 4-week training course that we're (I'm in a group of 20 new hires) in the first week of, so lots and lots of information coming at us really fast. It's a different kind of tired, but tired just the same, lol!

I was a wimp and wore my glasses to work today. I'm doing pretty good getting used to my contacts, but there is a lot of computer work in my job and it was getting hard on my eyes to transition between reading the computer screen and then also doing a lot of reading on a projection screen for power point presentations. I gave my eyeballs a break. I hope I don't have a harder time with the contacts now that I've been without them for a day, though!

Did I mention I really think I'm going to like my new job? I'm meeting some cool people, too, although some of them lead lives of such DRAMA that they belong in a telenovela or something. Still, you can't beat the entertaiment value.

And, I just found out that Survivor Fiji starts tonight. I'm a sucker for Survivor, I've watched every season and I'm not about to start now after sticking with it for this long. That said, I'm going to go indulge in that now and then head to bed super-early tonight. Just one more day and then the weekend, woot!

My bookclub has an outing planned to downtown P'land for a "field trip" to Powell's on Saturday, I can't wait! I'll blog again soon, I hope. Mea culpa.

Gratuituos Bono (and some other guy) photo o' the day:

cute

This is an adorably cute photo of Bono from yesterday. He was (is?) in New York for fashion week as his wife Ali's ecologically conscious clothing line, Edun, unveiled it's new line. Bono seems to have stayed out of the spotlight for the most part, but somebody managed to snap this pic of him looking over the balcony where he was hanging out and staying out of the way. Love it!!

500!

wow, I just realized this is my 500th blog entry! I wish I had something very momentous, or at least a really good entry to mark the milestone, but alas I was just coming here to post a photo and a quick entry.

I started my new job at Starbucks in the airport today, it will take me a little while to get used to my new schedule but I hope it won't cut into my blogging too much. The airport is a great place to be, always people to watch and you never know when you might see a certain shortish Irishman passing through...

speaking of yer man, he was in Utah this week for the Sundance film festival, and is expected to make an appearance in Davos, Switzerland later this week for the World Economic Forum. I'd love a look at his passport, it must be chock full of stamps!

It was rumored last week, and announced this week, that Bono will receive a special award from the NAACP. This is a really special thing, and I'm sure he's thrilled to be honored this way. Fox will be airing the NAACP Image Awards live on March 2, and I'm sure I'm not the only one counting on and looking forward to a live speech from Bono.

That said, I have to go wash my world-famous green Starbucks apron. I will leave you with one of the most recent pics of one of my most favorite people, taken yesterday in Park City, Utah
