birthday week

It's here again, the official D****** Girl's Birthday Extravaganza. Lilly turned 5 on the 10th, and Britt 15 on the 12th. All those numbers add up to a lot of wrapping paper, cake and ice cream, and candle blowing.

My sister came out from Portland, we hadn't seen her for about 4 years so it was so nice to spend time with her. Now that we're all in Oregon we will be seeing a lot more of her!

We're having some gorgeous weather here on the Oregon coast, so we spent some time at the beach doing the usual beach-y things. In fact, we had such a good time at the beach that we failed to notice this was happening:

Oops. Good thing we live 2 blocks from the beach and have neighbors with big trucks, big enough to pull a 3/4 ton van, buried to the axle in wet sand, to higher and drier ground. It wouldn't be a special occasion in our family without some sort of minor emergency or other!
