not a good sign...
I actually woke up with a headache this morning. That never happens! I mean, I do get headaches a lot, both migraines and regular old headaches. But usually something has to happen to cause them, usually stress or eye strain or lack of caffeine. I guess this would be what a hangover would be like, at least it looks that way in the movies. But I'm not a drinker and I'm definitely not hung over. It just doesn't bode well for the rest of the day, though, does it?
So, today is Larry's day off, and it's rainy and cloudy and yuck outside. We'll be staying home, I'm going to try to get him to help me with a couple of projects around the house. It's quiet and peaceful here right now with the older kids off at school and Lilly still snoring in bed.
Oh, I almost forgot, we're taking Lilly to the dr. today. Get this....she comes up to be yesterday with some Qtips and asks me to clean out her ears. Now, she has had problems with ear infections before and had tubes put in over 2 years ago. Since then she's had a couple of infections, but nothing major. But she does have really waxy ears for some reason. Sooo, I start cleaning out her ears and see something white-ish in one. Weird! What IS that?? I was thinking it was dry skin, that's pretty much all I could figure out. But then I couldn't quite reach it, so started trying to get it with various sizes and types of tweezers. I look in the other ear...same thing! Weird!! So, we move out to the sun porch where there is a lot better light, I get her to lay down on my lap and finally pull out of her ear....wait for it......a little wad of toilet paper. Huh? How did you get *toilet paper* in your *ear*?? She shrugs. Who knows? So, then I go for the other ear, but she jumps and I poke her with the tweezers, and that's the end of that. Many many tears on her part, much cajoling on my part, but no WAY is she letting me near her ear again.
And I kept trying. Trying and trying, because it is bugging me to DEATH and I can't stand to think of her going around with *toilet paper* in her HEAD! But even when she's asleep, she won't let me near her ear.
Fast forward to this morning...she's running a fever, still won't let me near her ear, and hence a trip to the pediatrician is in store for us.
Thank god our ped has 2 young girls of her own and totally understands things like this.
