Octavia Butler, a wonderful author, died this weekend from a fall at her Seattle home. I am so sad to hear this! She was 58 years old. I just discovered her when I read her latest book, "Fledgling" in January. It was a very interesting book about vampires, but it was really an allegory dealing with racial and gender issues and family relationships. It was great and I was really looking forward to her writing a sequel. She has a lot of other books, she began writing when she was 10 years old. It's sad to know that she won't get to tell the rest of the stories that she had inside her.
